Getting back into the swing of things!
Jan 11, 2016
It’s time for you to come out of your winter hibernation and make your golf debut again on the course or at the range. We are of course weather resistant and open throughout the winter months, but you may have let the festive season take over, we get it!
Not to fear, we are here to help you get back into the swing of things…
It is easy to lose feel when you haven’t been practicing much. When practicing your chipping, your primary focus should be on quality of strike. Making good contact with the ball will help generate the elevation and spin you require to get the ball close to the flag. Our short game area makes it easy to build your confidence.
Distance control is key when hitting your putts, and taking time off can easily affect your judgement of speed when standing over mid to long range putts. Try to focus on getting the ball to finish one foot behind the hole. That way, if you happen to miss the putt, you will leave yourself a tap in.
It is never easy to maintain a good rhythm during the winter months. Start 2017 by finding your own natural swing rhythm to ensure you hit solid golf shots. Try hitting shots using different amounts of effort, 40%, 60%, 80%, and see what produces the best results. Finding your right rhythm will produce longer and straighter golf shots.
We offer lessons for even the most experienced golfer to ensure you are constantly improving your game. If you have had some time off over the break, why not book in with one of our PGA coaches to start 2017 on a positive note.
